The more we look at the majesty of creation and the Cosmos, the more we realize how small and limited we all are as human beings. Watching so-called “shooting stars” in the night sky is a true delight. Such a view can offer an unforgettable experience. And it can also offer you the chance to make a wish, as superstitious people say.
How about getting to see twin meteor showers? It sounds like a blessing and something almost unfeasible, but it’s pure reality. According to MSN, twin meteor showers could end the month in big style. Fireballs could make their appearance in the night sky.
Get ready for July 28 and July 29
You only have a few more days to wait. The two upcoming meteor showers will peak on the night of July 20 and on the morning of July 29. Known as the Southern Delta Aquarids and the Alpha Capricornids, the meteor showers will offer a spectacular celestial show!
However, many of the meteors from the Southern Delta Aquarids are difficult to see after the Moon gets into the cosmic scene and above the horizon. The best time for delighting your view with the meteors will be on Wednesday night – before midnight local time or when the Moon is set to rise.
As for Alpha Capricornids, the American Meteor Society has something interesting to say via its website:
What is notable about this shower is the number of bright fireballs produced during its activity period.
Bright fireballs could be dancing and enlightening the sky for a few seconds. Let’s just hope that there won’t be too cloudy conditions!
