Vaping and the use of e-cigarettes are riskier and have more dangerous effects on people’s health than the vape producing companies want you to know. As of recently, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (the CDC) announced that vaping made its first victim.
Besides, other 200 people on the territory of the U.S. have been reported to suffer from a mysterious lung disease produced by the use of these products, a large number of them being admitted to the hospital.
The people were first hospitalized because medical specialists believed them to suffer from some sort of a common pulmonary disease. Further investigation revealed that it was not the case and attributed the illness to vaping or e-cigarettes use.
Those hospitalized declared that they had difficulties in breathing, suffered from shortness of breath, fatigue, cough, chest, and gastrointestinal pains. The researchers do not exclude the fact that the people that vape or smoked e-cigarettes might have used substances that had not been approved by the industry, especially if they bought under the counter products.
The CDC Is Now Investigating The Case Of The First Death Caused By Vaping
Some of the patients confessed to having used home-made brews, some of which contained drugs. The CDC has already started an investigation in all states, with the help of other health organization’s, to understand the situation better.
There is a variety of problems that must be taken into account in the investigation. What is actually leading to the disease? It could be the nicotine cartridge, the vapor, the ingredients used, or the temperature and the concentration of all these. Also, the investigators still don’t know if the substances enter directly into the lungs or the bloodstream.
Scientists are yet to confirm that they are 100% sure that vaping and the use of e-cigarettes are the cause of the sickness, and they acknowledged that they must look deeper into the matter.
What is for sure is that despite being a ‘healthier’ alternative to smoking cigarettes, those who use vaping devices and e-cigarettes are still exposed to some risks. We are yet to find what the risks are.
