Changsheng, Chinese Vaccine Maker, Supervised by the Police

Changsheng Biotechnology, the Chinese vaccine maker, was called for swift action by Xi Jimping, China’s President and the police launched a probe which says the firm is suspect of illegal behavior, all before of a Tuesday trade significant by 10 percent.

Changsheng was accused by China’s drug regulator of fabricating records regarding the vaccine for rabies given to infants.

Even though no receiver of the vaccine has been hurt, Chine regulators decided to order Changsheng to recall the product and halt the production.

It is no the only mysterious thing found about Changseng. It also had an amount of 252,600 substandard DPT vaccines sold. That vaccine is recommended to inoculate children against tetanus, diphtheria, and whooping cough.

At the moment, multiple authorities are supervising Changsheng, and it is also investigated for corruption by The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI).

Because of this scandal, the healthcare was sacrificed for the day of Monday and Changsheng’s Shenzhen-listed shares suffer from a drop of $1.8 billion.

The Chinese population is not a fan of this situation either, and they have been expressing their opinions on the Sina Weibo microblog gathering using a hashtag which was mentioned by over 600 million views. According to the state-run Global Times newspaper the internet suffers from a tsunami created by this scandal.

The result of this significant issue might be that Chinese people’s children will be taken to Macau or Hong Kong by their parents in order to get different vaccines, as it happened some time ago in a similar scandal.

At the moment Macau’s health bureau confirmed that there is no lack of supply regarding the vaccines and the Hong Kong Department of Health told Reuters’ supplier monitors the situation as they still have enough medicaments for patients.
