During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Katy Perry said that her upcoming album called Brave is not calling out anyone and of course this includes Taylor Swift. Perry was asked if the album addresses rumors that Taylor Swift’s Bad Blood song is about her.
“Well that’s not my question to answer — if it’s about me,” Perry answered.
“I think [my new album is] a very empowered record. There is no one thing that’s calling out any one person.”
Perry further defended her forthcoming album saying, “One thing to note is: You can’t mistake kindness for weakness and don’t come for me. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. Anyone. And that’s not to any one person and don’t quote me that it is, because it’s not. It’s not about that.”
“Honestly, when women come together and they decide to unite, this world is going to be a better place. Period, end of story,” Perry concluded.
“But, let me say this: Everything has a reaction, or a consequence so don’t forget about that. OK, honey. We got to keep it real, honey,” she continued to explain in the interview.
“This record is not about anyone else! This record is about me being seen and heard so that I can see and hear everyone else! It’s not even about me! It’s about everything that I see out there that I digest.”
“I think there’s a healing in it for me and vulnerability. If people want to connect and be healed and feel vulnerable and feel empowered and strong, God bless and here it is,” she added to make her point.
In a 2015 interview with the Telegraph, Taylor Swift swore to never speak about to so-called feud between herself and Perry, saying “I’m not giving them anything to write about,” she said. “I’m never going to talk about her in my interview. It’s not going to happen.”
On the other hand, the 27-year-old “Shake It Off” singer did explain that she isn’t afraid at all to make a couple of enemies. “It’s not real if someone appears to never have any issues with anyone. I have my friends. I have enemies. I’m not nice all the time, but I try not to be carelessly rude to people who don’t deserve it,” she concluded even if another interview during the same year she said that Bad Blood has nothing to do with Perry.
