Blood pressure is an insidious disease. Basically, the blood has to go through some arteries which, in the meantime, because of the unhealthy way of life, have strained.
This puts pressure on the heart and the arteries, which leads, sooner or later, to severe cardiopathy. The more the arteries squeeze, the blood pressure increases, which can become fatal.
Only in the US, there are 70 million heart patients, representing more than 40 percent of adults over 25. The aggravating factors are stress, poor fiber diets, and physical inactivity.
Cucumbers and garlic make an excellent pair in the fight against heart disease
The good news is, however, that you can clean your arteries often by eating an easy-made salad with ingredients that you can find at every grocery store: cucumber and garlic.
Cucumber is full of water, fiber, potassium and magnesium. Potassium helps to balance the sodium content of the cells, fibers regulate tension and reduce bad cholesterol, prevent the installation of type A diabetes and helps you lose weight. Garlic is a good regulator of blood pressure, hypertension and cholesterol. It reduces the flow of blood in the arteries and thereby inhibits atherosclerosis.
The active compounds of garlic use the same mechanism as atherosclerosis-inhibiting drugs. Garlic prevents the production of angiotensin II, a hormone that helps relax blood vessels. Garlic is also very good in cholesterol control.
