How The Entourage Effect Improves Your CBD Experience

How The Entourage Effect Improves Your CBD Experience

The meteoric rise of CBD produced a variety of different products, ranging from isolate to organic, full spectrum CBD products. These come many different forms, ranging from oil tinctures to creams, and even edibles promising to deliver all the potential benefits of cannabidiol.

Is there a preferred type of CBD oil that delivers all the natural compounds of the plant, in order to drive the best possible result? Before taking any CBD product, it’s important to understand the “entourage effect,” and how it works with the complete spectrum of CBD with every serving.

CBD Isolate vs. Full Spectrum Products

There are two core types of CBD products on the market today: CBD isolate, and full spectrum CBD. Each offer a different take on CBD, based on your goal.

CBD isolate is pure cannabidiol, harvested from industrial hemp plants grown in the United States. During the extraction process, CBD is removed from other cannabinoids naturally occurring in the plant, along with THC – the psychoactive ingredient in the plant. This product usually ends up as a white powder, and does not offer the “entourage effect” because there are no other cannabinoids in the products.

Full spectrum or pure CBD oil follows much of the same process as harvesting CBD isolate: mature industrial hemp plants are collected, and CBD is extracted from the plants. But instead of collecting only cannabidiol, all four of the cannabinoids are garnered, along with a trace amount of THC. This process sets up the “entourage effect”

Full spectrum CBD Oil and the Entourage Effect

There are two core potential benefits that come from using organic, full spectrum CBD oil. The first comes from getting all the natural cannabinoids, including cannabigerol and cannabichromene. These additional cannabinoids have been studied for their use in relaxation, sedation, digestive health and pain relief.

However, the best possible outcome may come from the “entourage effect.” It’s earned that name because science suggests all four cannabinoids work better together. When used collectively, the body absorbs the CBD oil better, while the compounds compliment each other to deliver a combination of comforts. Those who regularly use organic, full spectrum CBD oil reportedly experience less anxiety, lower blood pressure, and less inflammation from conditions.

While the trace amount of THC is included in the “entourage effect,” it’s not enough to create the “high” feeling. Industrial guidelines mandate all CBD products must contain less than 0.3% THC by dry weight, which is simply not enough to get “high,” nor is it enough to be detected on a drug test.

Why the Entourage Effect is Important for CBD Oil

Before trying any CBD-based product, it’s important to read the labels and understand what goes into it. CBD isolate, and even broad-spectrum CBD can’t replicate the “entourage effect” found in organic, full spectrum CBD oil. By understanding this distinction, you can get the best possible product available, complete with all the potential benefits.

Although more research is needed, the studies out there today suggest there’s a lot of possibility for CBD and the complete “entourage effect.” While you should talk to your doctor before you buy CBD oil, always look for organic, full spectrum CBD oil to get the full reported effects.
