Let’s face it, when we’re watching the sports channels, most of the games have more man participants and winners than women. And it is only fair because men are in fact equipped with better muscle mass and the opposite hormone profile of the one women have. This is why men are better at some sports events than women. But not at all of them, study shows.
A recent study observed that when it comes to endurance women are far better than men. It appears that women have a better psychological system set up that helps them get through tough situations they may found themselves in. It really doesn’t matter if we’re talking about hours, days, weeks or months because women actually have an incredible inner power that somehow transfers to the rest of the body, a thing that is not that common at men around the world.
Researchers from the University of British Columbia claimed that men may manage to cover a certain distance pretty fast while running, whereas women are able to do it slower but for a longer period of time. In other words, it turned out that women have better muscle endurance than most men.
Professor Dalton, the study lead researcher, examined 8 men and 9 women in the lab while flexing their legs as fast as they can. Of course, men completed the task faster, but women weren’t as tired as men after they finished. The reason why the doctor asked the people to flex their feet is the fact that this exercise is in fact just a simulation of everyday tasks, namely walking, running, standing up so on and so forth.
The researchers also said that women muscle endurance deserves further exploration and that all of this isn’t a race. It isn’t about who is better, it is all about how do we improve ourselves.
