There are some pretty exciting or disturbing new reports coming out, depending on how you view them. They are about to bring back the dead, and we suggest that you check out the latest news on the frightening matter below.
Bringing back the dead?
The rise of artificial intelligence is a matter of concern for many people, but its emergence will certainly offer new possibilities that were not previously available. Although AI can identify the average person for each job or the ideal partner for each US state, its rise is providing some surprising new opportunities.
An increasing number of people are experimenting with AI to see if it can bring back deceased loved ones and friends. Inventor and futurist Ray Kurzweil is one of those people. He is using AI to recreate some of his lost relatives, particularly his father who passed away when Kurzweil was just 22 years old.
More than ten years ago, Kurzweil began his attempt to create a ‘replicant’ of his father. His daughter Amy chronicled his efforts in a comic book.
Kurzweil fed an AI system with his father’s letters, essays, and musical compositions. The inventor hopes to use nanotechnology and DNA from his father’s buried bones to bring his father back to life one day. For now, Kurzweil has created just a ‘dad bot’ that he can have a conversation with. He believes that some form of a ‘dad bot’ will be released to a larger audience in the future. Kurzweil thinks that people will be able to connect their brains to machines by 2045. He has even more ambitious plans to physically resurrect his father with nanomachines, which would make history.
