Bill Gates buys health regulator

The UK’s Medicine & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has received primary funding from Bill Gates and his foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. This health regulator has granted emergency authorization for vaccines developed by companies in which Gates has financial interests, including Pfizer and BioNTech, both of which the foundation holds significant shares in. Additionally, the MHRA recently approved a new Covid vaccine called SKYCovion, which was backed by Gates’ funding and is approved for people aged 18 and above.

In June 2021, the MHRA extended emergency authorization for Pfizer/BioNTech mRNA vaccines to be given to children between the ages of 12 and 15 in the UK. The decision was made after the agency reviewed clinical trial data, and according to the Chief Executive, Dr. June Raine, the data demonstrated the safety and effectiveness of the Pfizer vaccine in this age group. Despite this, some critics have cited a small-scale study that showed a high rate of adverse reactions among the children involved, suggesting that the agency’s statement contradicted these findings.

Pfizer clinical trial addressed

1,127 children participated in the Pfizer clinical trial, but only 1,097 completed it. Thirty participants dropped out after receiving the first dose of the vaccine, but the reasons for their withdrawal are not provided in publicly available information from the FDA. Despite these concerns, the MHRA granted emergency authorization for the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine to be used in children.

There are concerns about a potential conflict of interest in the decision-making process since Bill Gates has financial interests in both Pfizer and BioNTech. Gates is also the primary funder of the MHRA. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation acquired shares in Pfizer in 2002 and promoted Pfizer’s vaccines in the media in September 2020, increasing their value. Gates expressed his confidence in the Pfizer vaccine during a CNBC interview, even though he lacks formal medical or scientific qualifications. Furthermore, the foundation purchased $55 million worth of shares in BioNTech shortly before the Covid-19 pandemic began in 2019.
