Astronomers In Western Australia Desert Discovered A Signal Coming From The First Stars Of The Universe

The astronomers who work in Western Australia, in the middle of the desert, have made the hugest discovery ever. Scientists discovered signals coming from the first stars of the Universe. Since the gravitational waves discovery, this recent finding is definitely the most important one in astronomy.

Such a discovery unveils fresh indication of peculiar physics and obscure dark-matter interplays that occurred at the origin of the Universe.

The dark matter presence was noticed

The signal the astronomers have captured shows that the hydrogen cloud it comes from is way colder than scientists forecasted before. The team led by Dr. Judd Bowman discovered that dark matter is involved in this.

Astronomers theorized that when the Universe has born the physics laws in the primordial Universe were not at all as we currently know. Thus, the dark matter and the matter interacted, which is contrary to what we can observe now when these two types of matter are not interacting anymore.

What will happen next?

Dr. Bowman and his science team managed to measure the characteristics of the signal coming from the first stars of the Universe using a small radio telescope, thus, the measurements could not be very accurate.

Fortunately, in 2020, the Square Kilometre Array will be installed in the Western Australia desert right next to the place where the astronomers have made the before-mentioned finding.

The Square Kilometer Array will cost $1 billion and will be the largest radio telescope on Earth.

According to the astronomers, the future Square Kilometre Array will tell more about the early days of the Universe as it is able to in-depth measure of the signals coming from any part of the sky.

Even though it is still under construction, the astronomers have already scheduled the first mission for the Square Kilometre Array radio telescope which will be to re-measure the signal coming from the first stars of the Universe that was discovered by Dr. Bowman and his team.
