Based on recent reports, the House Oversight Committee Chairman, James Comer, has stated that he is seeking an informant file from the FBI that links President Biden to a $5 million bribery scheme during his time as vice president.
In a letter addressed to FBI Director Christopher Wray on Wednesday, Comer (R-KY) disclosed the amount of the supposed bribe for the first time. He warned Wray of possible contempt charges if the file is not shared in accordance with the May 3 subpoena.
On June 30, 2020, Comer received an informant tip regarding a mysterious allegation related to the Biden family’s consulting work in countries where the former Vice President had influence. This information has sparked a guessing game among many.
Officials in Kyiv held a press conference on June 13, 2020, where they presented $5 million in cash that was allegedly offered as a bribe to stop an investigation into Mykola Zlochevsky, the founder of Burisma. It’s worth noting that this happened 17 days prior to the FBI being informed of the situation. Hunter Biden was employed by Burisma from 2014 to 2019, and in April 2015, an executive from the company had dinner with Vice President Biden in Washington.
Last year, Ukrainian officials confiscated a sum of money in the form of American $100 bills. The bills were publicly exhibited and their value corresponds to the amount of money that Joe Biden purportedly received in the past.
