You Could Have Less COVID Symptoms Using Flu Shots

Not everybody is a fan of COVID vaccines, regardless of how much some people try to neglect this aspect. There are still plenty of skeptics out there.

Vaccines also existed for the flu for many years, and anti-vaxxers might trust these more than the shots for the coronavirus. Of course, doctors are recommending both COVID and flu shots, although skeptics will always exist for all sides.

Getting both COVID and the flu could be dangerous

According to local12.com, health officials say that you should get a flu vaccine to prevent getting the flu on top of COVID. The same publication claims that studies have shown that those who got vaccinated for the flu were less likely to have to deal with COVID-related complications.

We all know that the coronavirus is dangerous enough by itself. It has already killed almost 4.9 million people worldwide since the pandemic started, according to worldometers.info. But doubled by the flu in an organism, that will be double trouble.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has some interesting things to say about the flu vaccines, as quoted from the agency’s website:

Flu vaccination has been shown in several studies to reduce severity of illness in people who get vaccinated but still get sick. A 2021 study showed that among adults, flu vaccination was associated with a 26% lower risk of ICU admission and a 31% lower risk of death from flu compared to those who were unvaccinated.
