A Significant Part of US Marines Refuse COVID-19 Vaccinations

The COVID-19 vaccination remains a very delicate subject, as a lot of people are still sceptical about its efficiency. There had been a few scandals already regarding the vaccines, and perhaps there will be even more in the near future.
As The New York Post reveals, a significant part of the US Marines isn’t willing to get injected with any COVID-19 vaccine. Although 75,500 of the Marines have already received vaccine shots, CNN reported that 48,000 of other Marines have chosen to turn the shots down.

No vaccines offer for 102,000 Marines yet

Air Force Maj. Gen. Jeff Taliaferro doesn’t seem to worry too much, as he declared:

We’ve already demonstrated over the last year that we’re fully capable of operating in a COVID environment.

He also added:

We fully understand that widespread acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccine provides us with the best means to defeat the pandemic.

If we take a look at reports from February, we find out an even more interesting statistic: about a third of military personnel from the US are refusing the COVID vaccine.
Our website wrote back in December last year about how half of the healthcare workers from Riverside County are also refusing to get vaccinated for COVID-19. We’re talking about the Californian county that had about 2.47 million people in 2019.
April Lu, a 31-year-old pregnant woman who works as a nurse at Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, is not willing to take the vaccine because she fears that it would be dangerous for pregnant women:

I’m choosing the risk — the risk of having COVID, or the risk of the unknown of the vaccine,
I think I’m choosing the risk of COVID. I can control that and prevent it a little by wearing masks, although not 100% for sure.

Until now, about 179 million people living in the US got vaccinated for COVID-19.
