Pfizer Fights For Covid Booster For Those Of 18 Years And More

Pfizer is a company that has been in the spotlight a lot lately. Not too long ago, we revealed that the firm has been in the middle of some pretty massive scandals, but it’s been tied with success stories as well.

For instance, TNCNews just noted that a few large media companies in Canada failed to reveal almost $2 million worth of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals funding that a leading pediatrics professor from Alberta received while he was pushing for vaccination of kids aged 5 to 11 years old.

Dr. Jim Kellner who is a pediatrician and University of Calgary professor, “has been cited as an authority in dozens of articles published by CTV NewsCBCGlobal Newsthe Toronto Star, and the Globe and Mail on vaccinating children and other pandemic related issues.”

The same online publication mentioned above notes the fact that since 2014, Kellner’s research has received $1,940,443 from Pfizer Pharmaceuticals for various vaccine studies. It’s also worth noting the fact that the most recent grant of $787,004 is allocated until the year 2022. Check out our previous article in order to learn more details.
But Pfizer also made headlines recently when it’s been revealed that its experimental antiviral pill for COVID-19 cut rates of hospitalization and death by nearly 90%. The drugmaker joined the race to bring the first easy-to-use medication against the coronavirus to the U.S. market.

Pfizer pushes for booster vaccine

Now, it’s been revealed that Pfizer and German partner BioNTech are planning to seek authorization for their vaccine booster shot for anyone 18 or over living in the U.S., according to a new report, a move that would greatly expand the program and boost protection levels.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s vaccine tracker is showing that 194 million Americans are fully vaccinated, equal to 58% of the overall population.
