Fauci’s Statement On Omicron Covid Variant Has People Freaking Out

Earlier today, we reported more news about the latest coronavirus variant that has been recently discovered. It’s been revealed in a previous article that the Omicron covid variant is making headlines all over the place, and people are freaking out like there’s no tomorrow. But how severe are the symptoms that this variant can trigger?

Omicron covid variant symptoms have been described as extremely mild

CNBC just reported that covid symptoms linked to the new Omicron variant had been described as “extremely mild” by the South African doctor who first raised the alarm over the new strain.

Dr. Angelique Coetzee, chair of the South African Medical Association, told the BBC recently that she started to see patients around Nov.18 presenting with “unusual symptoms” that differed slightly from those associated with the Delta variant.

“It actually started with a male patient who’s around the age of 33 … and he said to me that he’s just [been] extremely tired for the past few days and he’s got these body aches and pains with a bit of a headache.”

Fauci is terrifying people with his Omicron-related statements

Host Chuck Todd asked Fauci why this particular variant, which has been labeled a “Variant of Concern” by the WHO is causing concern when others, such as Lambda and Mu, didn’t.

“Well, right now, what we have is we have the window into the mutations that are in this new variant,” Fauci replied.

He continued and said the following:

“And they are troublesome in the fact that there are about 32 or more variants in that very important spike protein of the virus, which is the business end of the virus. And there’s about ten or more of these mutations that are on that part of the virus, we call it the receptor binding domain, that actually binds to the cells in your nasopharynx and in your lung.”

Fauci continued and said that the Omicron variant might have “an advantage in transmissibility,” and that “it might evade immune protection” provided by monoclonal antibodies, convalescent plasma, and “possibly even against some of the vaccine-induced antibodies.”
