CDC And Doctors Drop Vaccines’ Bombshell Among Pregnant Women

It has been just revealed the fact that the CDC and doctors as well have something interesting to say about pregnant women and vaccines – all kinds. Check out the latest report about this below.

CDC reveals news about pregnant women’s stance on vaccines

According to officials at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with some doctors, there has been a decrease in the number of pregnant women receiving influenza and other vaccines this year.

A recent report from the CDC revealed that during the cold and influenza season of last year, when the survey was conducted in March and April, around a quarter of the 2,000 surveyed pregnant women were “very hesitant” to get a flu vaccine.

It has been also reported the fact that this percentage was higher than the previous year, when only 17.2 percent of women were hesitant to get the vaccine.

The CDC study also found that the number of expectant mothers receiving influenza vaccines in the previous year was 47.2 percent, a decrease from the 57.5 percent who received the vaccine during the 2019-2020 season, which was before the COVID-19 pandemic and mass vaccination campaigns.

“Findings from this survey indicate that approximately one-half of pregnant women have not received influenza or Tdap vaccines, and only one-quarter received both vaccines,” the CDC paper said, referring to the vaccine for tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis.

It added: “Influenza vaccination coverage remains low and is [at least] 10 percentage points lower than during the 2019–20 season, consistent with other data sources that have shown decreases in influenza vaccination coverage among pregnant women since the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Out of the 1,252 women who were pregnant at the time of the survey, 27.3 percent had received the updated bivalent COVID-19 booster shot before or during their pregnancy, according to the CDC.

Among them, approximately 65 percent had received at least one initial dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, and 58.7 percent had completed the primary vaccination series.

This shows that there is a significant decrease in the number of women who received the booster shot, as the percentage drops to 27.9 percent.
