Nature is always there to remind us all from time to time that we’re vulnerable in the face of its wrath. And unfortunately, it sometimes does it in a totally merciless way. The same thing happened with the recent tornado that hit Kentucky and other five American states. The death toll reached 88 souls, and 103 people are missing, according to the INDEPENDENT.
The tornado has swept across about 200 miles, meaning that there wasn’t a chance to stop it. Unfortunately, the death toll will rise even more, as Kentucky’s governor believes, Mr. Andy Beshear.
Twelve children died
According to USA Today, 12 children are among those who passed away as a result of the tornado from Kentucky.
Rescue workers are still trying to find those persons missing as digging through the rubble. They still haven’t lost hope, and we hope they won’t. The aftermath of the event is a lot grimmer than some people expected. Also, the event has been more tragic than any other in the state, according to Beshear, who declared as quoted by The New York Times:
This has been the most devastating tornado event in our state’s history,
The level of devastation is unlike anything I have ever seen.
President Joe Biden even approved an emergency declaration, and it’s not a surprising move at all. During a news conference, the US President declared, as also cited by The New York Times:
We’re going to get through this, and we’re going to get through this together,
The federal government is not going to walk away.
We’re eagerly keeping an eye on the latest news regarding the situation in Kentucky after the tornado. Hopefully, more missing people will be found, and humanity will learn an important lesson from this tragedy.
