Probably the ladies would be delighted by the idea of having a pink diamond. As for the rest, the existence of such diamonds is only surprising. There is an explanation, however: these gemstones are extremely rare, about 1 in 10,000.
The Lulo alluvial diamond mine from Angola is the place where researchers found a very rare kind of diamond, one that’s big, pink, and has 170 carats, according to ABC NEWS.
The largest diamond of its kind found in centuries
The newfound diamond is called ‘Lulo Rose,’ and it’s the biggest pink diamond found in 300 years.

Volcanic activity is known to carry diamonds to the Earth’s surface after these gemstones form about 100 miles below. Diamonds are also known to be the hardest natural substance on Earth, and they are also the only known gems that are made of just one element: carbon.
Diamonds can be worth a fortune. The largest red diamond that was ever sold, for instance, was bought for the incredible amount of $8 million.
