We’re expecting Samsung Galaxy S9 to be launched in early 2018 and the company is working on improving the most important features they want to integrate into it.
Better Face Recognition for the Front Sensor
The news comes from a report of Korea’s ET News. It says that Samsung wants to improve face recognition scanner in the front of their smartphone and that it will be different from Apple iPhone X. Their exact words were that they will try to improve “the recognition rate of the next-generation smartphone Galaxy S9’s front sensor,” as they also want to keep the basic parts and the same structure.
The report has its bases on industry sources and it also contains information on new add-ons that will be applied through software rather than adding hardware in the front of the device.
Samsung is also trying to improve the sensor of the front panel. This would solve any issue with facial recognition, iris scan or even speed delays that might appear when a user wants to unlock the smartphone.
The report also suggests that the Samsung Galaxy S9 might have a similar 8 MP front camera sensor as the Samsung Galaxy S8.
Other Leaks on Samsung Galaxy S9
Samsung Galaxy S9 has some leaked information on two different processors: Exynos 9810 for the India market and Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor for the US version.
There are also some benchmark scores leaked for the Samsung Galaxy S9, which also show other specs, like 4 GB RAM – but we should also see a 6 GB RAM variant too. It will run Android Oreo and it will have an 18:9 aspect ratio Infinity Display, like the Samsung Galaxy S8.
There are other leaks that claim that Samsung Galaxy S9 won’t have a fingerprint scanner under its display because the launch time is too early for such a feature to be developed.
