Not only the US and countries from Western Europe are doing their best to try to convince people to receive COVID-19 vaccines. Some universities from Romania, meaning one of the most beautiful countries from Eastern Europe, are now offering free accommodation for students who choose to get vaccinated for the coronavirus.
The Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași, as well as the Transilvania University of Brașov, are offering free accommodation for those students who choose to get vaccinated for COVID.
The offer is available for only a month
As expected, those students who choose to vaccinate for COVID won’t get everlasting accommodation in the two Romanian universities’ accommodation places. They won’t have to pay the necessary fee for the accommodation for just a month, which is around 300 lei (aprox. $70). Brașov and Iași are two of Romania’s biggest and most important cities, and not just because prestigious universities of the European country are located there.
According to data brought by worldometers.info, Romania is currently going through the fourth wave of COVID infections. There had been a total of over 1.1 million infections with the coronavirus in the country since the pandemic began, and over 35,000 people died after struggling with the disease.
As a country that’s part of the European Union, Romania also offers vaccines for its population of about 19 million people. However, only about a quarter of Romania’s population is fully vaccinated for COVID, according to Our World in Data. Also, 9.87 million vaccine doses for the coronavirus were given countrywide. An important part of Romania’s population choose to remain skeptical and therefore avoid vaccination, and their reasons are the usual ones. They don’t trust the government, the media, nor the doctors.
