Among all the great news regarding this pandemic that seems to last forever, there have been all kinds of new symptoms that Covid-19 can trigger. Speaking of great news, we should hold on to the fact that new treatments keep popping up and the vaccines are also on their way.
Not to mention the fact that we’re definitely getting herd immunization, slowly but surely.
New Covid-19 symptom
As you probably know by now, the most common symptoms of Covid-19 include shortness of breath, fever, fatigue, loss of smell and taste, among others.
But it seems that the impact of the terrible disease does not end with these symptoms.
Covid-19 can trigger ED
Health.com just noted that on December 4, infectious disease expert Dena Grayson, MD, told Chicago TV station NBCLX that one of the potential complications of the virus is also the terrible erectile dysfunction (ED), according to the latest reports.
“We now know that people can have long-term health effects from this virus, neurologic complications, and now, for men who are watching this—there is some real concern here that men could have long-term issues of erectile dysfunction from this virus because we know that it causes issues in the vasculature,” Dr Grayson said.
She continued and said that “this is something that is of real concern.”
Back in the summer, it’s been already revealed that there’s a connection between the coronavirus and ED.
A study published in the Journal of Endocrinological Investigation examined the effects of the coronavirus-triggered disease on men’s sexual and reproductive health – there is definitely a correlation between coronavirus survivors and ED.
Experts agreed that there are various factors that could lead to the potential onset of the condition in the aftermath of Covid-19. These include inflammation and a pre-existing heart condition. Check out the original article on Health.com in order to learn more about all these details.
Other than this, it’s true that tragedies have happened so far and we’ve been bombarded by Wuhan-related bad news all over the media, but the positive achievements are also worth noting.
