It’s been revealed that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Thursday that it will convene an “emergency meeting” of its advisers on June 18th – this will be to discuss rare but higher-than-expected reports of heart inflammation following doses of the mRNA-based Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

So far, the CDC has identified 226 reports that might meet the agency’s “working case definition” of myocarditis and pericarditis following the shots, the agency disclosed Thursday. “The vast majority have recovered, but 41 had ongoing symptoms, 15 are still hospitalized, and 3 are in the intensive care unit,’ CBS News said.
“It’s a bit of an apples-to-oranges comparison because, again, these are preliminary reports. Not all these will turn out to be true myocarditis or pericarditis reports,” cautioned Dr. Tom Shimabukuro, a CDC vaccine safety official.
Shimabukuro stated that their findings were mostly “consistent” with reports of rare cases of heart inflammation that had been studied in Israel and reported from the U.S. Department of Defense earlier this year.

White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci said this Tuesday that there are more than 6% of the sequenced Covid-19 infections in the US which are due to the highly transmissible Delta variant that has been first found in India.
The Delta variant is known by the scientific name B1617.2, and it has spread from India to 60 countries, including the United Kingdom, where it has become the dominant strain; it’s also worth noting that this made up more than 60% of cases.
Fauci warned the Delta variant is “essentially taking over” the U.K. as its transmissibility “appears to be greater” than the Alpha strain which is also known as B.11.7. This had been the most prevalent in the country after it was first discovered.
