Luckily or not, the third COVID vaccine dose is imposed in more and more situations in society. It also happens if you want to travel to other countries and regions across the globe. Hawaii is one of the top destinations preferred by tourists, and for good reasons. But it may soon become a bit complicated to go there.
According to a new article from CNN, those who want to travel to Hawaii might soon need to get triple vaccinated for COVID. David Ige, the Governor of Hawaii, is strongly in favor of the idea of changing the definition of “fully vaccinated for COVID” to three doses. In other words, you’ll need to get the booster dose to consider yourself fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Get “boosted” or isolated for five days at your own expense
If you want to travel to Hawaii and you’re not a fan of getting vaccinated for the SARS-CoV-2 virus with three doses, you’ll have to spend five days in isolation at your own expense. However, international tourists still have serious difficulties if they want to go to Hawaii, as with very few exceptions, only Americans can travel there.
Ige declared for the Honolulu Star-Advertiser the following, as quoted by CNN:
We know that the community needs time to react to that, so we would have to provide at least two weeks for those who may not be up to date to go to have the opportunity to go and get vaccinated if they need to.
Otherwise, the USA, in general, is 62.9% fully vaccinated against the coronavirus, according to Our World in Data. As for the world population, in general, 59.9% of it is vaccinated, according to the same source.
