With every day that passes, humanity is approaching its return to the Moon. NASA will be in charge of sending a man and a woman to our natural satellite’s surface by 2024 during the Artemis program, with the mission to prepare the field for a further trip to Mars.
The last time humanity landed on the Moon was almost half a century ago: during the Apollo 17 mission from December 1972. Such a long time without revisiting our natural satellite led to an enormous amount of speculations and conspiracy theories. Probably the most predominant idea was that humans encountered intelligent and hostile alien species on the Moon.
Today on International Woman Day, the ’60 Minutes’ television broadcast explains how women will send America back to the Moon:
The description writes:
“Nearly a half-century after the last Apollo astronaut stepped foot on the Moon, NASA is working to send its first woman to the lunar surface. Bill Whitaker reports.”
For those unaware, here’s the presentation written on the ’60 Minutes’ YouTube channel itself:
“’60 Minutes’ is the most successful television broadcast in history. Offering hard-hitting investigative reports, interviews, feature segments and profiles of people in the news, the broadcast began in 1968 and is still a hit, over 50 seasons later, regularly making Nielsen’s Top 10.”
As NASA reveals, humanity’s return to the Moon will mark the building of sustainable elements on and around our natural satellite for allowing robots and astronauts to conduct more science than ever before. NASA is even currently seeking for partners to put eyes on Artemis missions, and it even asks for more Lunar science experiments.
NASA’s Artemis mission was named after the goddess of wild nature, hunting, and chastity from Greek mythology. She was the daughter of Zeus and the sister of Apollo. Artemis was also regarded as a patron of young women and a protectress during childbirth.
