Humanity will most probably find ways to live on Mars and build infrastructure there. Although it won’t be possible in the near future, let’s not forget that technology constantly evolves at a staggering rate. But until that moment, all we can do is just pretend. And if we’re good actors, NASA is even willing to offer us some financial rewards.
According to AutoEvolution.com, NASA is ready to pay those willing to pretend to live on the Red Planet for a full year. This comes in accordance with the news of ICON making a 3D-print of Mars’ habitat at the Johnson Space Center of NASA, which is part of the CHAPEA (Crew Health and Performance Exploration Analog) missions.
You can apply for one of four positions
Since the number of “astronaut jobs” are limited, you should hurry up and apply as you already have that chance! The four positions are offered at the Mars habitat known as the Mars Dune Alpha Habitat. The first mission starts in the fall of 2022.

Of course, not just anybody can apply for the astronaut role. The conditions are that the candidate holds a master’s degree in mathematics, engineering, physical or computer science, biology, or he has a minimum experience of a thousand hours when it comes to piloting an aircraft.
However, we have to admit that NASA’s new plan might not turn out to be so much entertaining as it sounds. The goal is to provide scientific help regarding possible problems that real human missions to Mars can encounter. Flying to the Red Planet and colonizing it can generate plenty of unexpected scenarios, whether scientists like to admit it or not.
If you’re like most guys, surely you wanted to be an astronaut and save the Earth from an alien invasion or a deadly asteroid when you were a kid. Now’s your chance to play the role of the astronaut if you’re qualified for NASA’s demands, and who knows, maybe you’ll even become a national or intergalactic hero someday!
