US Cellular occupies number 5 in the top of the largest wireless carriers in the United States, and now they are finally releasing the Android 7.0 Nougat system for users of Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge devices. This move comes more than a month after the rest of the four US carriers also rolled out the update to these models.
More Details about the Update
SamMobile reported that the US Cellular Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge phones weighs 1,512.39 MB. As such, if you want to download it, you will need to use a stable Wi-Fi connection, unless you have an unlimited data plan. Just like the updates brought by the other carriers, this one will bring lots of interesting features, such as a new Performance Mode, multi-window support and an improved battery life through enhancements in the Doze mode.
Estimated Time
Even though the rollout of the update started today, it might take several days until you can access it on your own device. If you are one of the target users (meaning that you own a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge and use the US Cellular carrier), you should refresh the page for software update found in the Setting menu on your phone if you want to check if you can download the Nougat yet.
Meanwhile, people are still expecting Samsung to release the same Nougat update for the unlocked versions of the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in the United States. Up until now, they have released the security updates launched in March 2017 for these phones, but users want to enjoy the newest version of the Android software too.
People who installed the latest version until now are truly satisfied with the changes, especially since the team keeps releasing constant improvement and updates.
