Amid this awful pandemic, some people started to take it seriously, and others still don’t believe in it. But one thing’s true: we need to get vaccinated if we want to end it.
And now, we come with not-so-great news: it has been stated that Children under 12 years old will not be able to get the COVID-19 vaccine until at some point this winter.
The Food and Drug Administration will authorize the vaccine for children under 12 in midwinter 2021. This gets the hopes up for many parents who wanted to get the vaccine for their children but couldn’t.
The FDA hopes that these vaccines will get full approval, which is something that will help parents be more confident in them and have the peace of mind they deserve. The current vaccines that are available to children older than 12 years old are emergency use only.
Vaccinating children is one of the most important things when it comes to stopping this pandemic. Adolescents will, as well, play a huge part in that.
Children should wear masks, especially if they are not vaccinated.
Dr. Anthony Fauci stated: “Unvaccinated children of a certain age greater than two years old should be wearing masks. No doubt about that. That’s the way to protect them from getting infected, because if they do, they can then spread the infection to someone else.”

Children should also wear masks when they are playing with their friends, especially if they are indoors.
