Eye Color, Indicator of Health and Diseases

It is said that the eyes are the window of the soul, but the researchers show that they can transmit more than that. The color of our eyes can tell us what afflictions we are prone to develop throughout our lives.

Scientists say studies have shown that people with brown eyes have a longer reaction time than blue-eyed people, while people with green eyes are more prone to develop eye cancer.

Gray, green and blue eyes

From a medical point of view, blue-eyed or light-colored people tend to be more sensitive to light. This is due to the distribution of the pigment responsible for the absorption of light in the eye, explains Ruth Williams, elected president of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Also, open eyes may indicate a higher risk of developing cancer.

The reason is that this type of eye contains less pigment to protect them from UV rays, so over the lifetime, the risk of melanoma at the level of the middle ear is higher.

People with open eyes should use UV-protected sun glasses and should be careful about sun exposure as this is more likely to develop skin cancer.

Brown eyes

According to a study by researchers at the University of Louisville, brown-eyed people have more developed reaction times during activities that advertise movement.

Changes in the color of the eyeball from white to red or yellowish, pupillary blur or white corneal ring are signs of the need to visit the doctor immediately, with the possibility of a disease in the body.
