The outbreak of the covid 19 pandemics has been reportedly getting worse with the novel strains that keep popping up.
Hospitalizations and cases are surging among unvaccinated people. CNN just reported that the surgeon general said that many of those who have followed precautions might soon grow complacent due to fatigue.
“I do think that many of those who did make that right decision to get vaccinated, are thinking, ‘Gosh, I did the right thing but here we are, still in the middle of this pandemic 18 months later,'” Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy told CNN’s Brian Stelter Sunday.
He continued and said the following:
“We get through this pandemic when a critical majority of us get vaccinated, and we haven’t hit that critical number yet.”
CNN also reported that as of Sunday, 50.7% of the total US population was fully vaccinated, according to data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
It’s also important to note the fact that with just under half of the country still unvaccinated, cases and hospitalizations are on the rise again.
Experts are getting worried
Experts are becoming more and more worried and what’s happening is heartbreaking – doctors are saying that they did not believe that the world would be back in that space again with so many new cases of the novel coronavirus.
“That’s heartbreaking considering we never thought we would be back in that space again,” Dr. Francis Collins said on Fox News.
Coronavirus is here to stay
The novel coronavirus seems to be here to stay for a while longer. The vaccines for the novel virus are problematic and more people are refusing to get the shots due to their potential side effects.
These have been discussed by experts a lot, and it’s more than obvious that the talks about these more or less severe effects are set to continue.
