Ohio chemical disaster

According to the latest reports, it seems that the residents near the East Palestine, Ohio chemical disaster are reporting rashes on their bodies.

Numerous inhabitants of the village have complained of unusual rashes, and a few have visited medical facilities in the past few days for treatment. However, health authorities remain ‘uncertain’ if this is linked to the train derailment and the consequent discharge of harmful chemicals on February 3rd.

According to Dr. Elena Rossi, who serves as the medical director for Akron Children’s Hospital-Mahoning Valley, said healthcare professionals are unable to determine if there is a connection because there is currently no test to confirm it.

“We have seen a handful of cases of rashes in our pediatric offices in the region. But unfortunately, at this time, a blood test to determine the presence of chemicals released due to the derailment does not exist, so we are unable to make a definitive link between symptoms and the chemicals released,” Rossi said Friday.

Not too long ago, we revealed that crews released toxic chemicals into the air from five derailed tanker cars that were in danger of exploding and began burning it after warning residents near the Ohio-Pennsylvania state line to leave immediately or face the possibility of death.

“Flames and black smoke billowed high into the sky from the derailment site late in the afternoon, about an hour after authorities said the controlled release would begin,” AP notes.

The slow release of vinyl chloride from five rail cars into a trough that was then ignited created a large plume above the village of East Palestine, but authorities said they were closely monitoring the air quality.
