New benefits of chocolate, discovered by scientists

An international team of scientists from Denmark, the United States and Canada has found that moderate chocolate consumption reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular diseases such as arrhythmia (rapid heartbeat), reports the Heart magazine.

The team of researchers analyzed the results of a study, attended by 55,000 Danes. They have answered some questions about how often and how much chocolate they include in their diet. Then the researchers compared the data with the medical history of the participants in the experiment, Rador informs.

It has been shown that moderate consumption of milk chocolate and black chocolate significantly reduces the risk of arrhythmia. This disease affects millions of people around the world. Among women who regularly consume 30 grams of chocolate once a week, the risk of this disease is declined by 21%. In men, this percentage is even higher – 23%.
