Reduce The Consumption Of These Drinks And Protect Your Heart

A healthy heart is a happy heart. And a happy heart is one that receives proper treatment. Drinking as much alcohol as humanly possible is not a healthy approach to heart health. Similarly, smoking is unhealthy for your heart and can lead to other serious health problems. Drinking alcohol in moderation (one or two drinks per day) is always preferable to drinking excessively (more than four drinks per day). When it comes to drinking habits here are some tips that should help you protect your heart.

Energy drinks

Energy drinks can cause heart issues. In fact, studies have shown that caffeine can negatively influence heart rhythm and cause significant cardiovascular problems in some individuals. Whether it’s from consuming too much caffeine or from drinking too much alcohol, caffeine can lead to irregular heartbeats, heart failure and even death if left untreated. While there are plenty of warnings against consuming too many energy drinks, many people still use them regularly.

Alcohol

Alcohol can cause heart issues, including high blood pressure, an irregular heartbeat, and heart failure. The symptoms are often subtle and easy to miss; for example, you may not notice symptoms until your pulse rate has become erratic or slowed. Drinking alcohol during pregnancy can result in birth defects in children, and drinking during adolescence or adulthood can result in problems with memory and judgment. Some research suggests that drinking too much alcohol can lead to brain damage.

Soda

Too much sugar is bad for you. Obesity is a leading cause of heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Soda contains high amounts of sugar, which can cause weight gain. Many people who drink soda every day have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and blood sugar problems. Obesity and type 2 diabetes are major risk factors for stroke and heart attack.
