Bodybuilding Tips For The Novice: A Guide to Starting Out Right

Bodybuilding is the practice of creating muscle mass by performing exercises that are typically used by sportsmen, weightlifters, and other individuals who are looking to improve their physical condition.

For many people, building muscle is an uphill battle. This is especially true for hardgainers and ectomorphs. These guys often have trouble gaining weight, but every little bit of weight helps them build muscle.

There are a lot of bodybuilding tips that you can get in order to be successful in this sport. So let’s get started:

  • First of all, three things are required to build muscle: progressive resistance, a proper diet, and adequate rest. Progressive resistance simply means that you must lift weights that are challenging enough to stimulate muscle growth.
  • If you’re a beginner, lifting any amount of weight will provide your muscles with this stimulus. As you become more experienced however, it becomes more important to progressively increase the amount of weight that you lift in order to keep stimulating muscle growth.
  • Workout Less – One of the biggest mistakes guys make is working out too much. Look, your body doesn’t grow in the gym, it grows outside of the gym when you rest and recover.
  • Eat More – This is my number one tip for all hardgainers out there. You gotta eat more calories than your body burns to gain weight and build muscle. So if you’re not gaining at least 1 lb a week (and it should be mostly lean muscle) then you need to add more calories to your diet.
  • Clean Up Your Diet – Eating clean is important because it helps with recovery and performance in the gym, plus it speeds up fat loss so that your hard-earned muscle doesn’t get covered up by a layer of flab.
